Bulk Cargoes

T W Logistics has long standing experience of importing and handling bulk cargoes, and has developed a range of ancillary processing services that it can offer to its clients, including cargo screening, packing and bagging.
The ports are equipped with a range of loading and handling equipment from crawler cranes, front loading shovels to elevators to enable efficient and speedy handling operation at all times.
Cargoes for export can be consolidated in advance of shipment, whilst imports can also be delivered direct to the customer or stored in our intermediary warehousing.
Dry bulks handled through Mistley include Ferro Alloys, industrial minerals, stone and aggregates, ash, grains and feeds, fertilisers and recyclables / biomass. Many of these cargoes are destined for, or originate from East Anglia, Essex and adjoining counties. This provides a cost effective route for transport between the UK and continental markets. This is particularly important for bulk cargoes where the cost of road haulage and the environmental impact is of critical importance and the Port of Mistley believes strongly in offering a local option to our clients in order to reduce road miles.
Dry bulks handled at Scunthorpe and Gainsborough include Ferro Alloys, industrial minerals, refractory powders, wood pellets, and pig iron. Significant quantities of these goods are destined for the steel, foundry, refractory and ceramic producers in the UK. TWL is well placed to serve all of these industrial centres.
Many of the goods imported involve further specialised processing within our facilities prior to onward distribution and delivery to the end user.
